YATES COACHING
Coaching is a process that aims to improve performance, focusing on the ‘here and now’ rather than the distant past or future. There are many different models of coaching, Yates Coaching promotes the ‘coach as a facilitator of learning' rather than 'coach as expert'.  There is a huge difference between teaching someone and helping them to learn. The coach is focused on helping the individual to improve their own performance, helping them to learn, whatever the desired outcome.

USA Cycling Level 3 Coach.
Not everyone can be a naturally gifted athlete. For most of us including myself, building or maintaining a competitive level of performance is a constant battle as we reach mature years. For some the thoughts of becoming a competitive cyclist or triathlete do not occur until we think we are beyond years that would allow it.

My personal experience shows that is far from the case. Beginning at the age of 40, weighing 248lbs and being mostly inactive sports-wise since a knee injury 15 years earlier, I decided it was time to change and I took aim at some very ambitious goals. More and more people are discovering that it's never too late to start and the rewards available are significant.

As a licensed coach I am now helping others make a new journey to recover or discover their athletic potential, improved health and joys of achievement though cycling and triathlon.
​
Coaching programs depend on the individual's aims but cover weight-loss, fitness, skills development and race guidance. There is no minimum level of fitness required to start - only motivation and commitment.
